Built by Alco-Schenectady in June of 1912 as Rutland (NYC&HR) 4-6-0 #2074. In 1914 it was renumbered RUT #74 (class F-2j). Then after nearly 41 years of service, the loco was finally retired in August of 1953 and presumedly scrapped. Specs - 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x26" cylinders, engine wt of 211,000 lb and tractive effort of 32,430 lb. This is a J.R. Quinn photo. |
